I’m pleased to have played my part in scoring a £250 win for local charity Men United last Saturday.
I was offered a charity bet at Ladbrokes by the Betting and Gaming Council, the industry body which works with member bookmakers, large and small, to raise standards and create a culture of safer gambling.
I teamed-up with members of Peterhead-based Men United to choose some selections for the Scottish Grand National, which took place on Saturday. Favourite Kim Roque was placed third meaning Men United gain from an each-way bet plus £250.00.
I’m grateful to Christina Bain and her team at Ladbrokes in Peterhead for their support on Saturday while myself and members of Men United studied the form.
The Betting and Gaming Council does important work in the promotion of safer gambling amongst other things and my thanks go to them and Ladbrokes for supporting the bet, which will see over £250.00 go to Men United to support them in their work.
