January 2026 came in like a lion in the North-east, affecting homes, businesses, transport and many other areas of daily life with schools shut and roads and communities cut off due to heavy snowfall and ice.
Aberdeenshire Council has been updating the local community on a daily basis with Amber and Yellow warnings in place as well as a list of useful websites and contacts for those looking for assistance during this very difficult period. The Scottish Government Resilience Room has met to coordinate recovery work with the local authorities and Police Scotland, but as I write this, these Arctic conditions remain and it will be some time before the constituency is back to normal.
