Congratulations to Gillian Martin MSP on her return to the Scottish Government Cabinet as announced yesterday.
The MSP for Aberdeenshire East won her seat at the recent Scottish Election and has been awarded the new post of Cabinet Secretary for Climate Action and Rural Affairs as the SNP leads a historic 5th term in government at Holyrood with John Swinney returned as First Minister.
I am delighted to see my accomplished colleague and North-east stalwart, Gillian Martin MSP, back in Cabinet and I look forward to working with her as she gets to work on her new portfolio on Climate Action and Rural Affairs.
Gillian was such a hard-working and diligent MSP and Cabinet Secretary for Energy in the last Parliament, strong both on delivery and as a voice for the North-east. I am sure she will being the same energy and commitment to this new remit, as we continue the important transition to net zero and supporting rural communities during these challenging economic times. She has much experience and talent to bring to this role and I look forward to working with her and supporting this remit from the green benches at Westminster.
