Recently, I was pleased to accept an invitation to join a community litter pick at Peterhead for National Recycling Week 2025 which ran from 22nd to 28th September this year as part of Keep Britain Tidy’s ‘Love Where You Live’ Campaign.
The litter pick was organised by Allan Paterson, Franchisee Holder at McDonald’s in Peterhead and Fraserburgh, as part of the company’s commitment to environmental responsibility and cleaner, greener neighbourhoods. Between myself, Mr Paterson, his colleagues and local volunteers, we collected about 22 black bin bags full of rubbish, quite a satisfying haul thanks to everyone’s hard work and the community spirited initiative of Allan and his company.
If you ‘Love Where You Live’, I’d recommend taking part in a local litter pick, with many taking place all year round outwith this National Recycling Week.
