I attended two important and moving events over the last weekend of August entitled ‘The Eagle and the Unicorn’ celebrating the deep and extensive connections between Poland and the North-east of Scotland, where more than 22 Polish soldiers decided to remain in the Banff area after the War having been stationed there.
A full exhibition detailing this unique history will be on display at Duff House, Banff over the next few months.
Guests including the Polish Consul, Banffshire’s Lord Lieutenant and local MSP, Karen Adam cam together for a special service at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Banff and at a reception at Duff House.
